documentation and research program 

For transitional justice and accountability purpose, the Documentation and Research Program began in 2003 to research and document human rights violation cases, analyses data, and publishes reports to raise international awareness about human rights violations in Kachin areas. At the same time, the program works on survivors’ empowerment activity and supporting their livelihood, human rights documentation trainings and capacity building for human rights violation survivors.

Objectives

  1. To collect the data and information which is needed to get truth and justice for human rights violations in Kachin and North Shan State.
  2. To become the Kachin Community base leaders can actively participate in the movement of truth and justice, and to promote and share the knowledge of Human Rights’ value to their community.
  3. To advocate the HRVs situation happening in Kachin and Northern Shan state to the local, national and international communities
  4. To empower HRVs survivors and women survivors in finding justice by forming survivors group
